FISCAThe Flax Trust Inter-Community School Choir’s Award will present an Inter-Community choral competition in which 16 primary and post-primary schools will have participation. The choirs will be made of as little as two and as many as four Catholic, Protestant, Integrated and Grammar schools. Approximately 15 pupils will be chosen from each Primary school and 30 pupils will be chosen from each Post-Primary, Secondary or Grammar school. Each choir will receive a musical and vocal workshop, learn new music and engage in activities which will promote inter-relations, confidence and team building. The workshops will develop the knowledge and talent of 240 individual pupils, ranging in ages from 4-18, whilst having an impact on an individual, departmental and community level.
Each individual taking part will work as part of a team, to perform in a choir and receive training of the highest calibre, from a specially selected team from Flax Trust Arts. CompetitionAll choirs that compete will receive a certificate of vocal achievement and will have an insight into the performance world. It is a goal of The Flax Trust Inter-Community School Choir’s Award, for every individual taking part to be inspired by the experience and reap the rewards of working together to create music, build friendship and improve inter-community and inter-school’s relations whilst working towards a shared future. The winning choirs will receive a trophy and substantial monetary award enabling the choir to build on their knowledge and develop into the future.
